Man, what a great way to start the summer with our new lineup! Undeterred by the cloudburst just before the show, plenty of people showed up at Boomers in Essex to welcome Ron Hupfeld to The Garage Allstars. We geared up for a great night, and the crowd did not disappoint. There were plenty of people on the floor, despite how bloody hot it was in there, and a great time was had by all!
The Garage Allstars would like to thank Boomers for having us for the first of many nights this year. We would also like to thank all of Ron's friends and family for coming out and cheering him on. I don't remember everybody's names, but you looked great out there, and we hope to see you again. Also thank you to Terri for the great pics and video.
We also want to thank all of our regular fans, and some faces we have not seen in a while. You ladies always make it worth it wherever we go, and it is always great to see you again!
The Garage Allstars
The sun rose on the 17th to one of the first really nice days of the year. The sun was singing, the birds were shining, and all was well with the world. As a beautiful day closed, The Garage Allstars took the stage for the first night of a doubleheader weekend at The Pit Stop in Frederick, MD.
A new venue. New faces. Always curious to see how the crowd would enjoy a little GAS for the evening, the band tore into the first set, and established one thing. That the residents of Frederick and the patrons of The Pit Stop truly love getting their collective faces rocked off! The Garage Allstars played to a full house on both nights, and had an absolute blast playing out there, and look forward to playing there again. It was a great night of classic and new rock that everybody can (and did) dance to, all night long.
So many people to thank for both nights. We would like to of course thank The Pit Stop for having us, and the staff treating us so well. We would also like to thank everybody who came out not just once, but both nights; especially our biggest fan, Michelle, who drove all the way from Baltimore twice to see us. We also want to thank anybody who came out only one night, but made their presence felt (yes, I promise we will play Bad Company, go sit down now).
We would also like to send a big thank you to Terri, Stan’s wife. She did everything from taking photos and video to carrying equipment at the end of the night, and even a last minute trip for cough drops. Thanks Terri!
And last, but certainly not least, we want to thank Fred Yankellow of Broadcast. Fred is one of the original members of GAS, and came out both nights to fill in on bass. Having Fred there truly made it a reunion weekend rather than a fill-in gig, and it was a thrill playing with him again. Thanks Fred, and looking forward to it again, brutha!
