The Garage Allstars are back together, with Mike, Ernie, & Ted, returning form the original lineup. Please help us welcome Stan H, on the drums, & Ron H, on the bass, as the newest members of our family. I think you will all enjoy G.A.S II!
TED started his singing career, at a non-professional level for a number of years, this was his first experience singing with a live band. His previous experience had been strictly Karaoke, but realized Karaoke was not enough time in front of people, and decided to find a band. Doing his absolute best to sound as close to the original artist as possible, his range varies from Eddie Vedder to Bon Scott or Steve Perry. During his time off from G.A.S. Ted sang for the local band Area 51. He uses a wireless mic to enable him to interact more with the crowd, and a separate vocal processor to add echo’s and other effects to his voice. He has also been classically trained on the maraca’s, the tambourine, the vibraslap, and the cowbell, with a minor in the triangle, and of course, the most important piece of equipment would be his lungs and big mouth!
MIKE started playing guitar in 1973. While living in California, he was a music major at San Diego State, and played in various rock bands. He studied flat picking for two years with Andy Thurston at Appalachian Bluegrass. He has also studied guitar with Ronnie Zebron, from “Never Never” and Tobias Hurwitz. In addition to guitar, Mike plays the harmonica, mandolin and is currently learning to play the flute. Mike has played locally wth the bands, Harms Way, & OTD. He plays Paul Reed Smith, Gibson, Taylor, & Seagull guitars, and Mesa Boogie, and Trace Elliot amps.
ERNIE has been involved with several local area bands over the years, including stints with JoLeo (an acoustic trio), 8th Day, Breakaway, and The Flow. Ernie is the other half of the Garage All-Star’s guitar duo, and loves being able to whip out a good, searing lead solo once in a while just to make sure you're all paying attention. He also provides vocal back-ups and is pretty much a slacker when it comes to learning the right lyrics to the songs on which he has any vocal duties. Regardless, he always comes up with at least the right number of syllables at the very last second . It may be complete nonsense, so just don't listen to him too closely when he sings!
Please help us welcome Ron, as the newest member of The Garage Allstars.
RON has been playing the bass professionally, in the Baltimore area, for over 25 years. He’s played in bands such as, The East Coast Ratz, from 1983-1985, Legacy & Staggerwing, from 1985-1986, Special Delivery, from 1986-2009, & now anchoring down the rhythm section, with Stan, in The Garage Allstars Band. Ron is a talented musician, as well as a vocalist. Ron plays a one of a kind, custom, 1957 Fender Precision Bass, through a Trace Elliot Amp.
